Basic operating knowledge of the computer is becoming a necessary job skill to possess; however, many are unable to afford the high costs of regular computer classes. So, we offer computer classes both in the Gandhi Ashram and at the Ramapir no Tekro’s Community Center for a minimal cost of Rs.100 per month. Normal fees for these courses are often up to ten times higher. The students who attend these classes are typically those in the community who wish to improve their basic computer skill sets.
We offer classes of 3 months to 6 months in Microsoft Office, Tally, Desktop Publishing with CorelDraw and Adobe PageMaker. These classes are supplemented with computer theory, typing skills, basic word-processing, and spreadsheet skills. Currently Manav Sadhna runs and manage three computer center in various locations.
Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar Open University (BAOU) targets high school and college students whose financial circumstances have led them to fail or drop out of school. Manav Sadhna works with BAOU to offer several of the institution’s distance learning courses at our center. Students can receive certifications including the Bachelor Preparatory Program, which allows students without a high school diploma to obtain diploma status, and the Certificate in Food and Nutrition, which enables individuals to gain the credentials to work in any Anganwadi in India. The Manav Sadhna’s Computer Center also serves as an abhyas kendra (study center), by offering its computer lab to those students who are undertaking courses for certificates in Computing, Personal Computer Software Programming, and Computer Concept.
