Shananvaj Dilshadbhal Shekh is aged 15 and currently studying in the 8th standard. He lives with his parents and 3 siblings. Sumaiya Dilshadbhal Shekh is Shananvaj’s elder sister, who is currently in the 12th grade studying commerce, whilst his younger brothers are in the 6th standard and 3rd standard. All 4 siblings are very studious and determined to make their lives successful.
Shananvaj has a huge interest in learning computers. Every morning, he eagerly waits for his computer classes to begin. When classes start, Shananvaj goes home and thoughtfully fills water-bags with water for each of the students to drink during class. On numerous occasions he has also helped clean the computers and maintained cleanliness in the classroom. Shananvaj’s family runs a small chai (tea) stall on the streets of Ahemdabad. Unlike other 15 year old boys, Shananvaj is solely responsible for running this stall, and keeping it open from 7am to 11pm, 7 days a week. Shananvaj’s kindness stretches to everyone who works around him because every morning he offers them chai, which is very important to him. It is through his hard work and relentless efforts, that the family business has survived and they have enough income to keep the household running.
Shananvaj’s eagerness to learn computers is very important to him. Without fail he attends daily computer classes. Out of all the students, he ranks at the top of his class. He has created a variety of drawings using the Windows Paint applications, which clearly demonstrate his talent and computer skills. Shananvaj’s computer Teacher went to his house and his mother mentioned that Shananvaj always scored zero or received failing marks in all subjects at school. However she was very pleased that in computer class, he was always receiving full marks which provided her with hope of a brighter future for her son. |
