Based in California, USA. Founded in 2001, the FWM is a faith based NGO dedicated to providing wheelchairs for the impoverished disabled in developing nations. Manav Sadhna joined with the Free Wheelchair Mission in 2006 when it received 550 unassembled wheelchairs. Prior to this, a survey was conducted to assess the need for wheelchairs in various villages and slums. Manav Sadhna hired four local youths to help assemble the wheelchairs, which were then distributed to residents of slums and villages in Gujarat and patients identified through the Government hospital.

Manav Sadhna has received a large shipment of 550 wheelchairs again in 2010 from the Free Wheelchair Mission. Manav Sadhna has distrubuted in assoication with the various NGO's, Instiutions, hospitals accross the state. Manav Sadhan also donating the wheelchairs to the individuals living in the slums of Ahmedabad.
In order to asses an individuals need for a chair, we suggests that the following five basic standards are met:
1) The physical condition of the individual prevents him or her from walking at this time;
2) The individual cannot afford to buy a wheelchair due to poverty;
3) The individual is not in possession of a wheelchair;
4) The individual is believed by your organization to be physically and mentally capable of using and benefiting from wheelchair; and
5) The individual has sufficient support from relatives or friends so that assistance is available to the individual with respect to his or her use of the wheelchair
