Compassion in the Time of Corona

Irfan Arab, a 25-year-old rickshaw driver and father of two, organized a group of 8 friends to distribute food kits in the impoverished interiors of Juhapura, where relief was unlikely to reach. When the lockdown was announced, Irfan was worried that many local families would start starving within a few days. He reached out to Kiran, a dear friend since 2004 when they met through All in One (Unekta ma Ekta), a MS dance and drama project focused on bridging the gap between Hindu and Muslim communities. Through Kiran (currently a MS karyakarta), Irfan and his friends organized a tempo to collect groceries from MS for 200 kits, which they have since prepared and distributed.
