Nutrition is an essential element to the healthy development and progress of any individual and therefore is an integral part of all regular MS programs.
Manav Sadhna started working in this area in 1995, focusing mainly on encouraging children to attend school, offering an alternative to child labor and working on improving health through a community clinic and awareness campaigns. In 2004, through the support of the community and donors, we created the Manav Jatan Community Center, our pilot effort after which we have modeled our subsequent centers.
Nutrition is an essential element to the healthy development and progress of any individual, and therefore, it is an integral part of all regular MS programs. We provide children with the essential vitamins and nutrient to support their physical and cognitive growth and overall immunity. For adults, we provide nutrition to support their strength and health.
Anganwadi
Nourishment, Good Health and Early Education for Preschoolers
MS joined hands with the government-run Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS) to operate 82 Anganwadi Centers (preschools) across several marginalized communities. The core intention is to decrease the infant mortality rate and battle malnourishment by improving the nutrition and health of infant children (ages 0-6) as well as expectant and feeding mothers through daily meals, timely vaccinations, awareness campaigns and much more. Our centers also provide a stimulating and caring environment to develop the social, emotional and physical wellbeing of young children.

Annapurna
We have joined hands with a local family of volunteers, who run a kitchen that prepares warm nutritional meals for all our children across our Holistic Education Programs, daily.
Milk Project
As the cost of milk continuously increases, many parents struggle to provide it for their children. Started in 2009, our Milk Project provides a glass of milk, in addition to a hot meal, to all Bal Sanskar children (1st-5th Std) across centers. It has made a significant difference in the children’s physical and mental development.
